In the heart of the Dolomites, where history and hospitality meet, the Kristiania has preserved its tradition and character for more than 60 years. Immerse yourself in the story of a place that has always been more than just a hotel: a home where warmth, a deep connection with nature, and genuine hospitality come together.
The Kristiania has its origins in the 1960s, when Arnold Stuffer, a passionate ski instructor and host by conviction, together with a few fellow ski instructors, shared the vision of creating a small hotel as authentic and connected to nature as the mountains themselves.
From this idea grew a place that has served ever since not merely as accommodation, but as somewhere hospitality and tradition come together as one. Even then, it was important to the founders to offer their guests more than simply a place to spend the night – they wanted to create an atmosphere that conveyed warmth and a true sense of belonging.
Over the years, the Kristiania has grown and evolved. Times have changed, the hotel has grown, yet the character of the house has remained.
Today, the brothers Thomas, Markus, and Lukas Stuffer carry the Kristiania forward together. All three grew up in the hotel, have known the Dolomites since childhood, and share their parents’ passion for hospitality and the region. Each brings his own strengths – together they ensure that the Kristiania remains to this day a personal, family-run place with real character.
In this way, the hotel bridges tradition and the present: with genuine warmth, personal attention, and a deep connection to the Dolomites.
