In the '60s, the ski instructor and paterfamilias of the Stuffer household was talking with his fellow ski instructors when a brilliant idea came to him: Santa Cristina di Val Gardena was just waiting for a hotel. He had in mind not just any ordinary hotel, but a business that could be a little gem at the top of Santa Cristina, which to this day remains within the municipality of Selva di Val Gardena. The quiet and exceptional location near the centre and right by the ski slope, made this the perfect idea. As the hotel was developed by a group of ski instructors, it went on to be called "Kristiania", after a very popular skiing technique - and it could not have been otherwise.
